A note from our Business Manager ¦

How is our parish doing? As you can see from our Sunday Offering report on page 4, to date we are $25,485 below our budget for the fiscal year (which ends June 30, 2004). Where were we at this time last year ? We were a little over budget in our collections. This year, we budgeted $17,000 for our Easter collection and so far we have received $22,348. Thanks! But what can we do to catch up? We are considering having the pastor write a letter to all parishioners and/or having a “catch-up weekend”to ask for help in closing the deficit. We are also rolling out a program which will enable parishioners to donate/transfer funds from their bank accounts electronically or via credit card. Watch the weekly bulletin for more information.

What does it mean to be $22,348 under budget (projected to be $30,000 by June 30)? In the short-term it means we have to use our savings to pay our daily bills. In the long term, it could mean a cut in ministries or personnel. We run a lean ship. Please feel free to share your comments, concerns or questions with us. The best way to communicate is by mail (1420 W. Granville Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660) or email me at wpgert@juno.com.

Thanks for listening,
Walter
