“Talk on Merton and Monasticism Sunday, October 15
The Chicago Chapter, International Thomas Merton Society, will present Sr. Suzanne Zuercher, OSB, who will speak on “”"”How Merton Understood His Monastic Life”"”" at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 15 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 7211 W. Talcott, Chicago. Sr. Zuercher, a clinical psychologist and a Merton scholar will explore how Thomas Merton, a 20th century Cistercian monk and a prolific spiritual writer, was shaped by his monastic vocation, struggled with some monastic issues but remained true to his calling. Good will offering will be accepted.
