Hunger in the Midst of Abundance

Doug Fraser, Executive Director of Care for Real
who will tell us about hunger in our neighborhood and Chicagoland.
Representative from Growing Home, a community supported agriculture project (CSA) that St. Gertrude Parish has supported for a number of years now as a local drop off site for distribution of produce during the growing season. Parish members and neighbors purchase shares of the produce in advance of the growing season and reap the benefit of weekly boxes of produce grown without pesticides throughout the summer. The program helps develop local organic farming and provides training and jobs for people who are in need. For information about Growing Home see this link:
